Fake Plants Need Light Too

2018 (Realized)

London, UK

Many people have fake plants in their rooms since they provide an instant connection with nature and a sense of life. To enhance the performance of artificial plants and challenge the boundary between 'real/life' and 'fake/death', Fake Plants Need Light Too was designed in a playful and artistic approach that uses shape memory alloy and thermochromic pigments. When the plant senses the light, it quickly springs to life and turns into green, and lose the energy and color when it loses the light.
